From 1 January 2021 the Federal Circuit Court application fee for migration litigants will increase from AUD $690.00 to AUD $3,330.00.

The increased fee is purportedly commensurate with the Federal Circuit Court’s placement in Australia’s court hierarchy – i.e., the increased fee is more than the Administrative Appeals Tribunal’s application fee, but less than the Federal Court application fee.
The increased fees are also accompanied by a partial fee exemption provision, which allows individuals to pay a reduced fee where paying the full fee would cause financial hardship.
The existing full fee exemptions also continue to apply.
